The new TUXEDO InfinityBook S 15 presented on January 21, 2021 by TUXEDO Computers. A company that sells hardware that is perfectly optimized for Linux. The InfinityBook S 15 is the smallest 15.6-inch TUXEDO laptop with dimensions previously seen only on 14-inch notebooks!
The new IBS 15 is also equipped with modern technology: the ergonomic and cooling-optimized Lift-Up hinge, powerful Tiger Lake processors, including the powerful iGPU Iris Xe Graphics, Thunderbolt 4 and the large 73Wh battery are just some of the advantages of the compact, lightweight a business notebook with Linux.
With extremely slim screen edges all around, the fully Linux-compatible business notebook from TUXEDO not only offers a high screen-to-body-ratio of 92%, but also integrates a large 15.6-inch FullHD IPS display (~300 nits | 95% sRGB) on very compact dimensions of 357 x 220.5 x 19.9 mm, which just a few years ago could only be seen on 14-inch notebooks.
Thus, the InfinityBook S 15 is one of the smallest 15.6-inch laptops on the market and combines a large screen with the smallest possible and 1.74 kg light chassis.
Tiger Lake Core i7 with Iris Xe Graphics
The compact 15 incher is powered by Intel’s efficient energy-saving quad core processors Core i5-1135G7 and i7-1165G7 but in the most powerful version with a maximum TDP of 28 watts.
The integrated Iris Xe Graphics with 96 execution units (i7) or 80 EUs (i5) is responsible for the graphics calculations. It is well suited for all everyday tasks including image and video editing and even some gaming in reduced settings.
The CPU and iGPU are provided with two assignable slots of 3200 MHz DDR4 memory in a Dual-Channel configuration with a capacity of up to 64 GB.
Ergonomic Lift-Up hinge for better cooling
For a more ergonomic typing experience the InfinityBook S 15 comes with its Lift-Up hinges, which use the rear edge of the display lid as a stand and thus raise the notebook at an angle of around 2.3 °.
In addition to the improved ergonomics due to the slightly angled keyboard, more air can be sucked in by the fan this way, which ensures a cooler and quieter operation of the device.
73 Wh battery and Thunderbolt 4
The large 73 Wh battery allows a long mobile use for around 12 hours in practical office tasks with medium brightness (~ 150 cd/m2) and activated Wifi adapter.
The handy and 140 gram light 65 watts power adapter underlines the mobility factor of the InfinityBook S 15 and via the FlexiCharger function the battery charge level can be limited in mains operation for an extended optimal battery life.
The Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4.0 port with up to 40 Gbps data transfer rate features USB Power Delivery for charging the notebook and integrated DisplayPort for up to two monitors (4K @ 60Hz).
Furthermore, 3x additional USB ports, HDMI and a LAN port are available. The 2-in-1 headphone / microphone port and the 6-in-1 card reader round off the connectivity setup.
In terms of mass storage, the IBS 15 offers 2x M.2 SSD (1x PCIe 4.0, 1x PCIe 3.0 or SATAIII) for a total capacity of up to 4 TB.
